Louise Fraser and Anne Brownie played the Championship Final on Tuesday 20th August in tricky conditions with very heavy and squally showers alternating with warm sunshine. Anne got off to a good start with a birdie at the 2nd. The weather more or less held until the turn at which point Louise was two up. Louise's length became a significant factor on the longer holes, especially in the worsening conditions on the inward half, but the downpours didn't get in the way of a birdie for Louise at the 10th. The match ended on the 15th when Louise stuck her second shot to gimme distance and Anne duly conceded the match. A valiant effort from Anne but Louise came away the victor. Congratulations to Louise and commiserations to Anne.
On other news, Mandy McBain, Fiona Findlay and their third team member came second in the MCLGA biennial triam at Prestonfield on 19th August. Hurrah! Comiston was well represented at the event and Amanda Northridge also did Comiston proud by winning nearest the pin in two on the 5th by being in the hole in two!
