What a cracking day for our first event of 2022 at the Braids!  The sun shone, the course is in great condition, the views were amazing, the milk bottle legs were out 😎 and what's not to like about a tex mex?
We had 4 teams of 4, all very close in handicap terms and scores were pretty close too - 65.25, 63.1, 62.75 and a winning score of 57 from Lesley, Violet, Janet and (very handy) new member, Eileen.  Next week's medal is going to be a bit of a struggle without pals!
Those that could, went over to Edinburgh Western's clubhouse and had coffee and a chat and Sue, who couldn't play, joined us too.  Great to have new members Tricia, Eileen and Kay joining in.
Today was rather a team event in several other ways:  Sarah L organised the format, teams and cards, Janet brought the coffee and biscuits, Sarah B brought the milk which Janet forgot, Bev made the teas and coffees and Janet, Bev and Gail washed up!  (How many Comiston ladies does it take to change a lightbulb? 🙃).

Last Friday saw the first Comiston “event” of the year when those who could, met at Braid Hills golf range to hit balls, have a coffee and a catch up.  The idea was that this would give the new members Patricia Parkhouse, Rhian Davidson and Eileen Gillespie a chance to meet other members and for existing members to welcome the newbies.  Unfortunately a few people pulled out because of covid contact reasons so we didn’t get to meet Rhian but most people who could, made it along.  Sarah Ledingham used her connections to get 15 bays and free balls booked - great job, Sarah, thank you - though she might have put the noses of the Merchants ladies out of joint by splitting up their regular Friday morning group bays 🤭.  Comiston hospitality didn’t stretch to the coffees, but that didn’t stop Gail, Viv and Jane coming along for the coffee and chat part of the morning and everyone enjoyed catching up with each other.   It was a good prequel for the new season which is fast approaching - yay!  🏌🏻‍♀️😎
