We played the annual match against Baberton on 29th May at home on Braids No 1.  Before we were half way round there were rumblings of thunder in the distance followed by large hailstones making the greens white and the balls invisible.  The match was curtailed to 11 holes and the 3 Comiston pairs prevailed. Thistle let us use their rooms for our meal which we all enjoyed and felt we deserved.

This is an Open Ladies Foursomes played over the weekend of 3 and 4 October.  Day 1 is strokeplay with the 4 best net scores qualifying for the matchplay competition on Day 2 for the Gibson Cup. There may be a second matchplay competition for the next 4 best ner scores.  Those not in the matchplay may compete in Day 2 in a Stableford Competition for the Consolation Plate.  Entry is £26 per couple for which 2 rounds are guaranteed over Braids Number 1.   For full details and entry form contact Mandy McBain, Edinburgh Leisure Tel 458 2100  gibsoncup@edinburghleisure.co.uk.

It was a very windy day over the Braids.  Gail Joughin won with 32 stableford points.  CSS was 74 and it was reduction only.

Two of our new members showed us how to play Braids number 1 today.  Janet Reid-Thomas won with a net 70.  Mary Brennan was the runner up with a net 71.  Well done, them.  The CSS was 72.

8 pairs played yesterday over a sunny Braids and the victors were Sandra Ashurst and Moira Williams on countback with 33 points.  Well done!  They will be entered for the Area Final in August.
