There was a good turnout of 16 people for the stableford today and those who turned out were treated to a beautiful sunny day.  Karina won with a scorching 41 points with Coleen giving chase in the evening with 38 points - if Karina was watching the scoreboard in the evening she might have been nervous!

Karina has been playing really well recently and a great score was only a matter of time.  What is almost more impressive is that she scored a gross 79, which included a 7 at the 17th.

Congratulations Karina.  Congratulations also to Coleen, whose score might have been the winning score on any number of other occasions.  It's great to see people playing so well.

With a smaller than usual field, we set out in balmy weather and almost got round dry. The downpour came during the second half of the back nine and it was wet!

The course was in great shape although some of the greens were a bit hairy with a "chewing gum" effect. Nevertheless, Carol finished with a super one under 71, a full 5 shots better than second place. Well played Carol.

Today all went well with the SG app and all players entered their scores with ease so that is very positive. Hopefully that will continue with our July stableford.

A hearty round of applause for the Comiston team of Sarah L, Viv M, Fiona and Maxi for an excellent second place finish in the MM this year.  Baberton took advantage of a clear home advantage to score 290 over the two rounds, only 6 shots clear of Comiston.

The day was everything a golf competition should be: gorgeous sunny weather (almost too hot for the second round), great golf, a well-presented venue and dinner in the very nice clubhouse.

Thanks from us all to the players who lived up to our high expectations and to Susan R and Maggie who were part of the MM team running the competition and providing photos and updates from the scene of action.  Good job all.  This certainly gives us all something to live up to next year when we hold the MM at the Braids.
