Our last competition of the year was a fun non-counter held on the Wee Braids on a bright but very breezy day. The views were great although generally the golf may not have matched them. 10 of us played a 9 hole £1 a head winner takes all stableford. The winner by 3 points with 15 was Viv Mitchell taking home the £10. (Does anyone other than Susan Randall play to their handicap on the Wee Braids?!) The next best scores were a trio of 12s. They and Viv also received a mystery prize (which seemed to remain a bit of mystery even after receipt!). Thanks to Sally Brian for righting the organiser's trolley on three occasions. Tea and scones at Braids Coffee House were a welcome end to the outing.

Congratulations to Gail Joughin and Chris Hochstrasser who were members of the Kilspindie foursomes team that have just won the 2019 Sime Salver, the East Lothian equivalent of the Morison Millar. They maximised their home advantage, playing at Kilspindie and narrowly beat the next best team from North Berwick. Perhaps Gail and Chris can bring their winning ways to Comiston for the Morison Millar next year.

The last handicap competition of the year took place on 27th September. The morning players got out before the rain started but were therefore fully committed by the time the heavens opened. The two players who were due to play in the afternoon wisely called off. Six people completed their rounds and although no one played to their handicap, the round became a counter because the CSS went up to 73 putting Mandy McBain, the winner with 33 points, in buffer.

The James Erskine Interiors Final was scheduled to be played at Craigmillar Park the same afternoon but was called off shortly after play started due to flooded greens. It has been rescheduled for 18th October.
