Our outing to Musselburgh Greensomes, some of us playing with guests and other with other members, saw 34 in our group playing. Elsa Todd and Hanne Robertson were third of the Comiston Group with a net 68.6, Caroline Johnston and Judith Drummond second in the Comiston Group and overall with 67.6 and Sally Brian and Maggie Gunn first with a net 67. Sally and Maggie won the main competition too. A very splendid score. Louise Fraser and Susan Rennie won the second scratch prize with a gross 77. We all enjoyed very splendid weather and a course in good condition.

Coronation Foursomes
On a hot day with the course in good condition (the Dispatch is on!) Sue Cowie and Amanda Northridge paired up to win this with 40 points with Anne Brownie and Christine Clements coming in just behind with 38. Well done them. Lets hope they can score at that level in the next round!
May Stableford
A reasonable turn out in the morning with two of us also playing a tie at the front and a few more playing in the afternoon. The scoring was very close with many in the early to mid 30s. Viv Curran was leading for a long time with 35 points but Morag Tait came in last thing with 36. Well done her. CSS 71. And Zandra had a 2 at 13th!
May Medal
A very good turn up for our May medal even though 4 of us had to play a foursomes tie at the back and were unable to join in. With all that dry weather the course was almost playing like a links course. Louise Fraser, fresh from her Midlothian victory had the best gross score of 78. Both Janet Reid Thomas and Morag Tait had net 71 but Janet prevailed on the better inward half. Well done Janet - starting the year as she left off! CSS 74
Midlothian Championship 2017
Congratulations to Louise in winning the Midlothian Championship. Terrific. And to Jaci Runner Up in the B Championship.
Congratulations also to Louise in winning Round 1 in the Champion of Champions at Ratho which she played in the afternoon after being blown round a chilly Gullane 3 in the morning in our Outing. The rest of us went back after our bowl of soup to put our feet up!
