Sally Brian and Caspin Lynch, the winners of our inaugural 9 hole competition over the Wee Braids, which has a rating for the first time this year, went off to play in the Scottish Golf qualifier at Milnathort on Friday 15 June.  The competition proved so popular that Scottish Golf extended the qualifier to 2 days with the top two pairs from each day going through to the final at Carnoustie on the Open weekend.  Sally and Caspin (each playing for their own scores which were then combined) did very well finishing with a combined 33 points and were leaders in the clubhouse!  At the end of the day they were tied 18th with two teams on 40 winning it.  But well done Sally and Caspin who had a good day by all accounts (and Sally even got her handicap down 0.6!).

14 of us played, morning, midday, afternoon and early evening.  The course continues to be in good condition.  The new watering system is certainly coming into its own during this dry spell.  Jane Hannam who only joined this year showed she can already play the course with 36 points but was pipped by Sarah Booth with 38 points.  Well done Sarah! (and well done getting away from work and up here to play!).  There were 3 twos -  Coleen, Janet and Hanne.  Janet's at 3rd and Hanne's at 1st were eagles!  CSS 71.

20 played and Hanne Robertson triumphed with a net 68 showing it is possible to reduce your handicap at the Braids!  Well done her.  This was the championship qualifier and Hanne qualified along with 7 others with Anne Brownie as number 1 with the best scratch score of 79 (winning back the Tappit Hen). The draw appears here under a separate heading.  CSS 71.
