August Medal

This really was the ‘Glorious Twelfth’ today and although there wasn’t a grouse spotted on the course, there were certainly a few birdies out there!

With a positively Mediterranean dry spell of weather, it has allowed a lot of run on the ball with some excellent scores and a couple of adventurous rounds too!
Maxi travelled across town through a busy Festival Edinburgh on a number 16 bus just making her tee time by the skin of her teeth! She also carried her bag all the way round which was super impressive!

Also Jaci, today’s runner up, with a nett 71, just pipping Sarah B on the back 9, had a stressful round. A bee attached itself to her trousers and her scream could be heard all around the course. Viv C swatted the bee off Jaci’s trousers and Janet gave the bee the necessary treatment to send it happily on it’s way! Jaci also managed to slip on the top of the slope at the 18th and skidded down on her derrière with a ball in her back pocket!

However the winner today, with a birdie at the 4th and a marvellous nett score of 69, was Mandy! Congratulations on a great score!

Thanks to Braids United who offered Comiston Ladies soup and scones after their round today. There were plenty who went along and enjoyed lovely catering. It was nice that Gail and Sue popped in too.
