August Stableford

Conditions were good after some welcome overnight rain to green up the course. There was no wind and the only sounds to be heard was a helicopter flying overhead with chat and laughter from Comiston Ladies who were out in force for the August Stableford!

The greens were somewhat sandy so the pace of the balls caused some problems. Maxi was dismayed how you can putt well for nine holes and then suddenly everything could change!

Lesley met a friendly local on the course who handed her a brand spanking new Taylormade golf ball that he had found. Hopefully the first group out ahead hadn’t lost it!

Viv and Violet witnessed Karina hit her tee shot at 14 into the bushes. She then played 3 off tee and landed on the 7th fairway, put her ball to the side of the green and chipped into the hole for a 5 and 2 points! What a player!

Violet also celebrated the fact that she cracked the 14th today with 2 points also! Well done Violet!

Today’s runner up with 38 points was Bev, who reckoned it was down to buying a new golf glove at the Starter’s shop, with Diane’s help, as she’d forgotten her glasses! It was called, the ‘Ultimate Glove!’

However there can only be one winner and today, also with 38points but with the bih was Anne! Congratulations!

Thanks to the Braids United Vice Captain and his wife  for serving up delicious soup and scones to us in their clubhouse for £3 - great value!
Also we enjoyed seeing Sue and Gail and hearing their chat!
