AGM, dinner and prize giving

28 members attended the AGM, dinner and prize giving at Merchants Golf Club on Tuesday 5th November.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the new Centenary Salver. This trophy was presented by husband Gordon and sons Rory and Hector Milne in memory of Kate Milne, a long-standing member and secretary of Comiston. Gordon gave a short speech about Kate's love for the Braids, her enjoyment of being a member of Comiston and her competitive spirit and Rory presented the salver to Captain, Viv Mitchell. A moving and generous gift which will, no doubt, be fiercely competed for each year. Very many thanks to the Milne family.

The AGM was a fruitful review of the past golfing year and discussion of plans for the future (especially our centenary year 2020) and was followed by an excellent meal, prize giving and wine raffle. Comiston Champion, Louise Fraser, was unable to be present but she will be representing Comiston in the 2020 Champion of Champions.

The main prize winners were:
Louise Fraser - Championship Bowl
Anne Brownie - Tappit Hen for best qualifier in Championship qualifying medal and Runner Up Cup
